Fishtail Skirt

{Fishtail skirt - F21; Lace tank - F21; Pink blazer - F21; Dream-catcher necklace - vintage; Peep-toes - Payless}

The Japanese cherry tree in my front yard started to bloom this week, and it couldn't be a more beautiful start to my day. Thus, I was inspired to create this feminine, spring outfit. I actually cut this fishtail skirt myself. Remember when I said I went a little scissor happy? It's so easy to turn last season's maxi skirt trend into this season's fishtail skirt trend :)

I wore this for my friend's birthday dinner in the North End last weekend. The North End has narrow, cobble-stoned streets lined with little Italian restaurants, all with their windows open and the smell of fresh garlic bread drifting out into the streets. It felt so good to walk around on a warm, spring night with my skirt billowing behind me, eating gelato and cannoli with my friends.

I love how you turned this maxi into a high-low hem skirt! You made it look so easy. I have been wanting to make one of these forever. Love the floral print too.

Also, thanks for commenting on my blog, You Like It? I Made It!. I think you are being so modest. You have some pretty awesome DIYs here if you ask me. You can count me as your newest follower. ;)
